Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

TODAY’S GOSPEL THEME: “The greatest among you will be your servant. All who exalt themselves will be humbled and all who humble themselves will be exalted.” Matthew 23.

YOUTH GROUP – Our New Youth Group kickoff will be on Friday November 10th from 7pm – 9pm.  All interested students from grade 6 – 12 are invited. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend this first session to meet our new leaders and learn about the programs that we would like to introduce. There will also be karaoke, food and refreshments. I am hoping that you come out and be a visible part of our Catholic Community. A youth group in the parish can work wonders!!

TOTUS TUUS – A camp Director has come forward to organize our camp for this summer 2018. We can now register for the camp. More information will be coming soon.

HALLOWEEN PARTY – Many thanks to the Knights of Columbus and the ladies of the ‘dream team’ for hosting the Halloween party last Saturday evening. About 100 people attended and they had a lot of fun, especially the children. Thanks to Sean Bator for providing great dance music, as always.

TREE LIGHTING AND EVENING WITH SANTA – Our annual tree blessing and lighting will take place on Saturday evening December 2 after the 5pm Mass. The festivities will continue downstairs where there will be children’s Christmas snowflake bingo, food refreshments and music. This year, we are selling ticket to this even so that we know how many people are attending and also to cover the cost of the food. Tickets are available after mass in the vestibule or from the office during the week.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT – In honour of Our Lady, Coro San Marco will be coming back to St. Dominic to perform a Christmas Concert on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Friday Dec. 8. At 8 pm. Tickets will be available in the vestibule and from the office during the week. The cost for this concert is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children under 12.  As many of you know, we thoroughly enjoyed their last performance and I am looking forward to this one. Please spread the word and invite your friends and family.

ENROLLMENT WEEKEND – Please remember that all students preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion will be enrolled and given their cross at any of the Masses on December 2 at 5 pm or December 3rd at 9:30 am or 11:30 am. All parents are expected to attend this ceremony with their children.

FIRST RECONCILIATION – Please remember that the Sacrament of First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5th beginning with Mass at 7 pm and again on December 9th beginning with Mass at 9:15 am.

I wish you all a good week!!
