ST. DOMINIC'S PARISH HAS A NEW Email: StDominicsMI@archtoronto.org ( Please note the upper and lower case on the email.)/

Thanks to Fr. Roger for covering Masses and weddings this weekend for me. I am away at my niece’s wedding in Belleville Ontario. I will be returning on Tuesday.

ST. DOMINIC MINISTRY FAIROctober 22/23 after all Masses. This event will give you an opportunity to join one of our ministries or committees. We always welcome new volunteers.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALOWEEN PARTY FOR FAMILIES – Saturday October 29, following 5pm Mass. More information will be available in the bulletin as we approach the date.

ANNUAL RESETTLEMENT BAZAAR – Saturday November 12, 9am – 3pm. Monies raised at the resettlement bazaar go directly to the Resettlement Committee in order that they continue the tradition of welcoming refugee families to Mississauga. Monies raised at my table, “Fr. Phil’s Dinner to Go”, are given to St. Dominic Parish.

THANKSGIVING DISPLAY – Many thanks to the parishioners who put together our Thanksgiving display at the altar. She wishes to remain anonymous but I would like to acknowledge the display and mention how beautiful it was for Thanksgiving Weekend.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED SOONER THAN LATER
I need volunteers for the following:
First Confession and First Communion meetings –.  I need people to prepare the refreshments at all meetings. The ideal situation is to have a team who could take turns, making the work easier for all. Many thanks to our new volunteer. We still need 3 or 4 more.
Confirmation –I also need help with registration in Jan. 2017 and facilitators who can help at 4 classes, taking our students through the confirmation manual, Anointed for Mission.
Please email me at pjones@stdominicschurch.ca if you can help.

THIS WEEK'S PARABLE
Jesus told the parable of the persistent widow and the unjust judge to give his disciples fresh hope and confidence in God's unfailing care and favor towards us. In this present life we can expect trials and adversity, but we are not without hope in God. The Day of the Last Judgment will reveal that God's justice triumphs over all the injustices perpetrated by a fallen world of sinful people and that God's love is stronger than death. Those who put their faith in God and entrust their lives to him can look forward with hope and confident assurance. They will receive their reward - if not fully in this present life then surely and completely in the age to come in God's kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy.

I wish you all a good week,

                                                                                                         Fr. Phil
