First
Holy Communion
This
weekend is First Communion Weekend here at St. Dominic Parish. It is a time of
great rejoicing for our young people as they come to the table of the Lord for
the first time. They have been preparing for this special day for several
months along with their parents and families. It is a remarkable day in their
lives and we, as a parish community, congratulate them and look forward to
seeing them here with us as we celebrate the liturgy together every Sunday. I
would like to take this opportunity to thank our catechists, leaders and
helpers, Bev O’Grady, Melinda Mayo, Nancy Falls, Yolanda Swanson, Anna Yates,
Sophie Joefferle and Silvana and Vanessa Messore for their dedication to the
program and to our children.
First
Communion children, congratulations, may God continue to bless you and your
family and friends. By this sacrament of
the Body and Blood of Jesus, may you become a blessing for your family, and
become a best friend with God.
Confirmation
2016
Beginning next year, Confirmation will be
conferred in grade 7. Obviously we will have both grade 7 & 8 students to
confirm for the first year of transition. I am looking for catechists to help
us teach the program, Anointed for Mission, once in the Fall of 2015 and once
in the Spring of 2016. Please contact me if you would like to help us in this
ministry.
