I would like to
thank all those who made our Advent, Christmas and New Year celebrations so
enjoyable again this year. Thank-you to the Knights of Columbus and several
parishioners and families who came to decorate the church this year. It was
truly beautiful. The take down happened last Saturday and I thank the Knights
again for orchestrating this event. I also thank the Maronite community for
constructing a new Bethlehem scene for us to keep for ourselves. They have
purchased a building in Mississauga and, when it has been retro-fitted for a
church, they will be leaving us. I am happy that they left us our own manger
scene which we will use for many years to come. Special thank to all of our
ministers of the Eucharist, Ministers of the Word, Altar Servers, Ministers of
Welcome and our two fabulous choirs. The music was fantastic as usual. We are
so fortunate to have wonderful music all through the year too! Many thanks to
our ministry coordinators who put together the schedules for the special and
additional Masses. Thanks to all those families who volunteered to light the
candles on the Advent wreath too! I would like to make special mention of Mike
and Jennifer Pirri of the Apple Market. Again this year, they donated all our
flowers for Christmas. This is a very generous
donation to our parish and is much appreciated by us all! Thanks, too, to our
webmaster, Luis Gomes, for the wonderful website we enjoy here at St. Dominic.
Last, but not least, thanks to all of you for your presence at Mass during
these special seasons. I hope that our Advent and Christmas liturgies were
meaningful for you. I would also like to thank you for all your good wishes and
gifts. They are all appreciated very much.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST – Please remember the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast on the
weekend of February 14 and 15. The breakfast will consist of pancakes,
sausages, fruit cup, drinks, coffee and tea and will begin after the 5pm Mass
on Saturday Feb. 14th and conclude after the 11:30 Mass on Feb. 15th.
Please support our Knights of Columbus because when you do, they support the
parish with funds and various projects for us. Our new tables have been donated
by the Knights and more will come as they are able to fund-raise.
20th ANNIVERSARY PASTA
DINNER NIGHT – Our 20th anniversary pasta dinner night
will be held on February 21st.
Come and celebrate 20 years of this great event at St. Dominic. Tickets
are available in the vestibule every Sunday and from the office, during the
week. Hope to see you there!
