Many thanks to all those who helped to make our Harvest Bazaar so much
fun and so successful. If I attempted to mention individuals, I would
surely leave someone’s name off the list. So, I thought it better to thank all
the groups and committees for their tireless efforts before, during and after
the bazaar. Thanks to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for running the Victorian
Tea Room, to the Tuesday Senior’s group for pricing and manning the Grandmas’
Attic tables, to the Knights of Columbus for organizing and serving the lunch,
manning the book tables and decorating the hall, to the students of St. Paul
Secondary School for setting up the hall, helping on the day and for manning
the Kid Zone. Our bakers and those looking after the bakery tables did a
fantastic job too. Thanks to those who did the knitting and manned that table.
Thanks to the members of the Pastoral Council who helped at my table selling
the dinners to go. Our silent auction items were great and I thank all the
donors who donated these wonderful gifts. We were pleased to have music playing
the entire day and I thank Mike Zammit for providing this for us. Thanks to
people outside the parish, specifically at St. Leo’s parish in Brooklin, my
last parish, for their pies, the cabbage rolls, the fudge, the soups, the rum
cakes and the peanut brittle. Several Grandmas’ Attic items came from there
too! I appreciate your support of St. Dominic’s Parish. Many thanks to my
current and some retired staff who worked behind the scenes to prepare the day.
Our bazaar involved so many people and I thought it was truly a parish event.
Many thanks to all of you who came to support our efforts. Our final total is
about $6000.00 but we will know the exact amount when the monies from last
Sunday’s sales are counted and our final silent auction items have been picked
up by the winners. Thanks again to all!
Please remember that the Resettlement Christmas Bazaar is
November the 8th. Also, the Christmas Caring and Sharing Program
is going to be done entirely by gift cards this year. Please stand by for
further information.
A reminder that Mass on Monday, Thanksgiving Day, is at 10:00 am.
Have a wonderful week and I wish you, your families and friends, a very
Happy Thanksgiving
Weekend!!
