It is with great sadness that I announce the resignation of our Folk Choir Music Director, Mark Linsao. During the past week, I received his letter of resignation citing personal reasons for his decision. Mark has been a wonderful addition to our parish, not only in a music capacity, but as a faithful parishioner too. In the course of his resignation letter, Mark has written a note to me, to all of you and to his choir members and I would like to convey his thought to you here.

Note to me: To you, Fr. Phil, I would like to offer my most sincere and best wishes.  Since day one you offered your continuous support to the choir and to myself.  Music can be so uplifting and inspiring and you provided that very home where I can share that same sentiment.  Your spiritual guidance and friendship will never be forgotten.

As you and many of the congregation are aware, this past year has been extremely difficult for me.  My resignation is not an indication of escaping my past but rather an opportunity to find myself again - in particular my love and passion for music.

Note to the congregation: To the congregation, all of you constantly inform me how much the music adds to the liturgy.  Music is only an enhancement to the liturgy.  The cornerstone behind our church and the liturgy has been all of you.  I have never been part of a parish community who are so involved and continually dedicated.

Note to the choir: To the choir, since day one I have stated that you have been the most talented group I have ever directed in my various tenures as a choir director.  You have each stood beside me sharing your voice and by resigning from St. Dominic's, I will not only miss our music, but I will miss my family from the last eleven years.  We sang as a choir with one voice and one goal - to lead the congregation in singing.  Please never lose this sentiment and always know that I was and am the music director I can be again because of you.

Needless to say, I am saddened by Mark’s decision but, at the same time, I understand his position fully and respect his decision entirely. I wish Mark every good wish and blessing in all of his new endeavors. I sincerely thank him for his many years of service here at St. Dominic.

At this time I would also like to announce that Sean Bator will assume the duties of Folk Choir Music Director and I thank Sean for his willingness to move into this new role.

RECEPTION: Mark will be returning on October 26th for one last Mass at 11:30 a.m. with his choir after which we will go downstairs for a reception with refreshments. At Mark’s request, there will
be no formal reception schedule or speeches.
