I am delighted to have this opportunity to say “good-bye” to the parish.
I have been at St. Dominic’s for seven years so it is sad for me to be leaving.
Dear parishioners of St. Dominic’s if you only knew how truly grateful I
am for everything you have given me. You have always shown me love and
kindness, in everything I was doing at St. Dominic’s. All of this came to a
head at the party on June 15th when you showered me with many good
wishes and gifts and cards. I am very grateful. I have enjoyed my time here. In
accepting your very kind wishes I also ask your understanding for the times I
have failed to live up to that ideal of the priesthood, following Jesus Christ.
I am also saying
“good-bye” to the important parish staff. I thank them all, for their
willingness to work diligently for St. Dominic’s. We have become true friends
over the years and hope that these friendships will continue. Most of all I
want to say a big thank you to Assunta Celeste who is our cook but is in
reality the life and soul of St. Dominic’s for not only her “Penne a la Vodka”, but for her warm
personality and her unfailing optimism in the face of life’s sufferings. She is
a living example of God’s love in action.
Finally I want to
thank Fr. Phil for his many kindnesses and helpfulness to me over the years.
May God bless Fr. Phil with good health for many years to come.
May God continue
to bless everyone at St. Dominic’s, a Faith
Community Alive In Jesus Christ.
Fr. Noel
