Congratulations to our loyal parishioner and St. Paul student Emma Kendrick and her collaborators at St. Paul for taking first place at this documentary festival. This is hardly a surprise to us at St. Dominic’s Church because we know the importance given Catholic Social Justice to all students at St. Paul’s and the many opportunities they have had to support the work of Dr. & Mrs. Simone’s Canadian Food for Children at the warehouse on Lakeshore Avenue.

Non-Profit and ICT Specialist High Skills Major students from St.Paul created a documentary entitled, everyONE, for the 2014 Soc Doc Film festival. Last week, Students and staff travelled to Stratford for the Social Justice film festival and were awarded first place. everyONE, shares the story of Dr.Andrew and Joan Simone who were inspired by their Catholic faith to dedicate their lives to serving the poor.

In the film, St.Paul students share how the work of Canadian Food for Children and the community of support provides inspiration and invites everyone to a life of service. The short film will be posted on the festivals website, www.socdocsfilmfestival.com
