Thanksgiving Weekend is upon us once again. There
are so many things to thank God for and so I included 2 prayers for you today:
One in thanksgiving for each other and the other, a thanksgiving dinner prayer.
I hope that you are able to celebrate this day with family and friends and pray
this prayer together. I would like to thank all of you who supported our first
annual harvest bazaar last weekend. I will print the totals and the prize
winners in the bulletin next week!
For Appreciation of Each
Other
We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your
Son who came to our earth and lived in a simple home. We have a greater
appreciation of the value and dignity of the human family because he loved and
was loved within its shelter. Bless us this day; may we grow in love for each
other in our family and so give thanks to you who are the maker of all human
families and our abiding peace.
Thanksgiving Table Prayer
O Gracious God, we give you thanks for your
overflowing generosity to us. Thank you for the blessings of the food we eat
and especially for this feast today. Thank you for our home and family and
friends, especially for the presence of those gathered here. Thank you for our
health, our work and our play. Please send help to those who are hungry, alone,
sick and suffering war and violence. Open our hearts to your love. We ask your
blessing through Christ your son. Amen.
Happy
Thanksgiving to you all!
