I sincerely hope that you all had a happy Thanksgiving weekend with your families and your friends. We have much to be thankful for here in Canada. The freedom and peace we enjoy is like no other country in the world. In speaking briefly about Thanksgiving, I would like to thank all of you who were able to donate to our food drive. Your contributions were amazing. Our three schools, St. Paul Secondary School, Queen of Heaven and St. Dominic Elementary Schools were exceedingly generous this year and they are to be commended for their efforts and demonstration of discipleship. I would also like to thank Mrs. Rose Comella for the wonderful Thanksgiving display in the sanctuary of the church; it is very beautiful indeed. Thank you Rose!!
Our Foods of the World dinner is happening next weekend and I am looking forward to my first experience of this popular event. The work continues at the south side of the church and new weeping tiles and waterproofing should be finished shortly. The children’s liturgy room and our custodian’s work room will be finished by next Sunday and you are welcome to visit both rooms to see the improvements. Please keep abreast of the news regarding our formation of a Knights of Columbus Council here at the parish. I invite once again, all men in the parish to consider joining this worthy organization. Our parish will only benefit from their presence. November the 7th marks the date of our Christmas Bazaar in the hall. Please keep that date in mind and try to attend and support our Resettlement Committee as we await our new family’s arrival from Iraq. I am asking for volunteers to bake for this bazaar. Please see Isabel or Maria at the back of the church in regards to baking. Thank you for your continued support in all areas of the parish and for making this community the great place that it is!
